Underwater video and film production presents a unique set of challenges.
Air Sea Land Productions (ASL) has been at the forefront of new technologies
and production services to address these challenges and make any
underwater production a success.
This promotional video allowed ASL to become familiar with the challenges specific to underwater high definition, and to develop specialized production techniques and equipment to meet those challenges.
We shot the video in a five day period at Stuart Cove's in Nassau, Bahamas. Our schedule started by testing the housing and calibrating the filtering system for varying depths. Then, we focused on a simple story line that takes us from snorkeling shots to shark feeding, all in a little over seven minutes. The final piece showcases the versatility of the housing and the artistic possibilities available with the film-like aspect ratio and razor-sharp clarity of HDTV.
The video has since been seen by thoudands at trade shows like DEMA, NAB, and others.
